Born in Winchester, England to a Welsh father and Javanese mother. The family moved to Jakarta when she was two months old. She spent most of her childhood in Jakarta, being schooled in North Jakarta International School and Gandhi Memorial International School, she also took modeling course in OQ Modelling School, Kelapa Gading which open her way to take role in Indonesia soap opera Inikah Cinta. At the age of 16 she moved back to England to studied in Steyning Grammar School. Ames is currently a student at Bath Spa University, majoring in Film and Screen studies.. She is fluent in English and French. She has one brother who is seven years older.
