The Vampire "Nina Dobrev" Diaries

Nina Dobrev (born Nikolina Konstantinova Dobreva, Bulgarian: January 9, 1989) is a Bulgarian-Canadian actress and model. She portrayed Mia Jones on the drama series Degrassi: The Next Generation (2006–09), and then played the role of Elena Gilbert on The CW's supernatural drama series The Vampire Diaries (2009–15).

She moved to Canada at the age of two and has lived in Toronto, Ontario ever since. From a very young age, she showed great enthusiasm and talent for the arts: Dance, Gymnastics, Theatre, Music, Visual arts, and Acting! Modeling jobs led to commercials, which then turned into film auditions. Shortly after, she booked roles in the feature films Fugitive Pieces (2007), Away from Her (2006) and the popular television series, Degrassi: The Next Generation (2001), on CTV.

Since 2009, Dobrev has spent 10 months of every year living in Atlanta, shooting her 22-episode-per-season CW series, The Vampire Diaries. Treading in the scripted world of doppelgängers and the undead, Dobrev deftly took on the highly dramatic coming-of-age story of an innocent-at-first high school student named Elena Gilbert.

Over the years, Gilbert fell in love with not one but two members of the bloodthirsty Salvatore brood (while in real life, Dobrev dated Ian Somerhalder, who played the older Salvatore brother, Damon). Gilbert would eventually die, come back to life and become a vampire herself—and a vampire premed student, no less.

.

There’s The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 due out in 2015 plus another movie called Joy in which she stars alongside Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro in the drama about a struggling single mom. Keep your eyes peeled

Lawrence can also be seen in The Beaver (2011), Like Crazy (2011), House at the End of the Street (2012), and American Hustle (2013). She played the title role, Joy Mangano, in the 2015 David O. Russell film Joy (2015).

She’s not hiding from the media frenzy of course. She handled all difficult situations (including that embarrassing trip on the the stars when she went to accept her award) in true girl-power style and she went on to do what she does best… Made a couple of hit movies!
